Liverpool’s Divock Origi will have scan on injury which forced him out of Newcastle win, says Jurgen Klopp

Divock Origi is going to have a scan in an ankle injury sustained in the 3-1 win over Newcastle of Liverpool, Jurgen Klopp has said.
Before his replacement Roberto Firmino played a part in the second and third objectives of Liverpool, Newcastle midfielder Miguel Almiron injured in an early challenge origi and limped to the bench eight minutes prior to half-time.
Klopp stated:”Regrettably Divock twisted his ankle in the game, also needed to come off. We all hope that he could’ve played on, and it is a sign that it is not that severe, or it is not that severe. He’s using a scan, he’s in very great shape though and they’ll find it is fine.
” It was my own choice to launch on the left and right Sadio in the middle, we have seen it work before, however it did not work now against such a deep defending side. That is the reason why we changed it from the sport too.”
Besides that injury, Klopp had chance with the sloppy start to the game of Liverpool, permitting Jetro Willems to shoot Newcastle leaving Liverpool with only one blank sheet from their opening five matches of the year.
“I started loving it after about 25 minutes once we eventually arrived in the match,” he explained. “We need to work on that but it can happen, it had been hard. When they’re good on the counter-attack newcastle did exactly everything they did, it’s hard.
“We needed an additional 15 minutes or so to set our rhythm, since you have to be much quicker than we had been at the first portion of the match. The second we began doing this, we scored two fantastic goals and in the next half, after learning from the sport we scored after but played really well.”
When Joel Matip seemed to be hauled to the ground by Jamaal Lascelles, liverpool were denied a penalty but a VAR review agreed Andre Marriner’s decision.
The under-fire video inspection system has come in for criticism for the large bar that has been set to overturn’clear and apparent mistakes’, together with referees chief Mike Riley declaring that week had overlooked four significant incidents so far this year, also Klopp stated he’d have expected a review to have overturned the choice on this occasion.
“I believe they did a critique, the fourth official told me that they did, and so was I surprised it wasn’t a punishment? Yes,” he said. “But this does not help obviously in situations such as this being amazed. It’s not an issue although it was a punishment for me – we would talk.
“It’s a penalty; you can’t fight like this to get a ball, it is a wrestling situation in Joel Matip. You do not need VAR, simply whistle and have a shot”
